In conjunction with George Harrison’s 73rd birthday earlier this week, MTV Live and VH1 Classic will air George Fest: A Night to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison later this evening, a 2014 tribute concert coordinated by Harrison’s son Dhani, hosted at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Featuring performances from Brian Wilson and Al Jardine of the Beach Boys, Norah Jones, Heart’s Ann Wilson, Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, Perry Farrell, Brandon Flowers from The Killers, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Ian Astbury of The Cult, Ben Harper, and even Conan O’Brien, the emcee for the evening’s festivities, the idea for George Fest had long been in Dhani Harrison’s crosshairs.

“I’ve always imagined a small club show where my generation of musicians could cut loose on some of the deeper tracks from his career,” Harrison tells the Los Angeles Times in a statement.  “So, in a totally new and vibrant way, I once again found myself taking the stage with some of my most treasured musical heroes to the sound of the most familiar music in my life…. They are some of the best interpretations of my father’s songs I could have ever thought possible.”

MTV Live (formerly Palladia) and VH1 Classic are set to air George Fest: A Night to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison tonight at 9 PM ET. The concert is also available for purchase right now on DVD, CD, and vinyl and can be found here. Check out an extended teaser trailer below:
