Gov’t Mule has officially announced their 10th studio album, Revolution Come… Revolution Go, due out June 9. Following yesterday’s interview with Warren Haynes, detailing the new album, and sharing it’s first two singles “Stone Cold Rage” and “Sarah, Surrender,”  Mule has announced a supporting tour. The band will tour this summer with opening support from Galactic, Yonder Mountain String Band & The Marcus King Band, and Blackberry Smoke, in addition to their previously scheduled dates with Eric Krasno Band, Soulive, and Chris Robinson Brotherhood.

Revolution Come … Revolution Go marks Gov’t Mule’s 10th studio album, and was recorded in Austin and New York City in collaboration with Gordie Johnson and Don Was. It has been four years since the band released original music.

By design, the album’s recording started on Election Day, and contains a heavy political agenda, mixing the band’s timeless blends of rock, blues, funk, and soul with lyrical observations on the state of America.

While “Stone Cold Rage” invites a heavier tone, “Sarah, Surrender” provides more of a soulful approach to the contemporary moment.

Both singles are available for download through this pre-order link.

Check out the album cover below. Created by artist Richard Borge, it displays a soldier atop a broken toy mule facing the wrong way as he yells through an orange street cone. “It’s that same idea,” explains Haynes in a press release, referring to the country’s current state of affairs. “The character is yelling to nobody and facing backwards. It makes you think.”
