UPDATE: Tickets for the pit section have been listed on eBay today! The auctions expire by 7 PM tomorrow, June 9th, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to score great seats for a greater cause.

Those who missed out on tickets to the Grateful Dead ‘Fare Thee Well’ concerts may have a chance to get them after all. Today, it was announced that the members of the Grateful Dead are auctioning off 300 tickets to the reunion concerts, with all proceeds going to 16 charities.

In a statement, the band members said “We are eager to support these charities – some of whom have been staples of our community for decades – while also giving fans another opportunity to obtain tickets.” Tickets for all five shows, including June 27-28 in Santa Clara, CA and July 3-5 in Chicago, IL, are sold out.

The auctions will be held entirely through eBay, with the first beginning at 12 PM Eastern today, May 27th. Tickets will be released every other day throughout the month of June on eBay. The charities include some long-time institutions supported by the Dead, including The Rex Foundation, Unbroken Chain Foundation, SEVA, The Rainforest Foundation, and HeadCount.

The full list of charities supported includes: Surfrider, The Owsley Stanley Foundation, The Hidden Wings School, Love Hope, Strength, REVERB, Oxfam, Represent.US, The Multidisciplinary Association for the Study of Psychedelics and Rock the Earth. The program is run through the Giving Works eBay client, and more information about that can be found here.
