Jamgrass mainstays Greensky Bluegrass brought their homegrown blend of bluegrass jams to Denver’s Mission Ballroom last night for the second of two nights at the venue on Saturday. They once again welcomed support from Ghost Light, who opened up both Denver shows. Once again Greensky got a little help from their friends in Ghost Light in the form of a sit-in from Holly Bowling on the keys for the latter half of the second set.

The first set opened with a cover of Jimmy Martin‘s “Hit Parade Of Love”, which was followed by “Handguns” and “Don’t Lie”, both from Greensky’s 2011 album Handguns. After that came another cover with “Luckiest Man” by The Wood Brothers. Then came another original. “Take Cover” off of 2016’s Shouted, Written Down & Quoted. Next came “Broken Highways”, before “Run Or Die” closed out the first set on a high note.

Set two opened up with All For Money track, “Do Harm”. After that came “Better Off”, which was followed by “Jaywalking” before segueing into “Courage For The Road”. At this point in the show, Ghost Light keyboardist Holly Bowling came out on stage to sit in with Greensky, where she would remain for the rest of the second set. The expanded lineup first took on “Fixin’ To Ruin”, which was followed by “Windshield”. After that, the keys-assisted band played “What You Need”, which seamlessly segued into a cover of “Cassidy” by the Grateful Dead featuring significant exploration and interplay between Holly and the band. The second set closed out with “Leap Year”, at which point the band bid farewell to Bowling. The encore consisted of “Wings For Wheels” followed by “Demons” to close out the evening.
