This J Dilla’s “Donuts” Track Remixed And Set To Phish’s Donut Video Is Everything

Yesterday, Phish announced a thirteen night run at Madison Square Garden, officially titled the “Baker’s Dozen.” Naturally, with Jon Fishman’s donut dress and a title of “Baker’s Dozen,” the band’s promotional video for the upcoming residency was particularly donut themed, even ending with the phrase “Glaze On” as a play on their Big Boat track Blaze On.”

The story doesn’t end there, as someone from the J Dilla team was certainly inspired by the donut video. Dilla’s most well known album is called Donuts (2006), and someone from his team decided to pair a track from Donuts to Phish’s new video. They remixed the song “Waves” from Donuts and put it together with the video, creating this beautiful Donuts on Donuts mashup.
