The magical musical experience that is Jam Cruise will be setting sails next January, when Jam Cruise 16 takes over the Norwegian Jade from January 17th through 22nd. After it embarks from Miami, Florida, the cruise will round through Roatan, Honduras, and Grand Cayman during its weeklong circuit. One reason Jam Cruise is such a highly anticipated event is the intimacy provided by being trapped on a boat in the middle of the ocean with your favorite musicians—each year, the cruise is host to awesome collaborations that are unlikely to go down elsewhere, as such huge name musicians rarely gather together with open schedules specifically for hanging out and making music.

Jam Cruise Announces Its Massive Lineup For 2018

Today, Jam Cruise gave eager attendees a little bit more information about what to expect from this year’s festival-at-sea. One highlight of the cruise is the Jam Room, where big-name musicians take over the space and a rotating crew of some of the most beloved names in the scene stop by to collaborate with one another and jam. George Porter Jr., Jennifer Hartswick, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz (ALO), Roosevelt Collier, and Michael Carubba (Turkuaz) will each host a special super jam on the boat next January. In addition, the event also detailed the lineup for its official Jam Cruise kick-off party on January 16th at Wynwood Yard in the cruise’s departure point of Miami. Turkuaz and the Roosevelt Collier Trio featuring The New Mastersounds‘ guitarist, Eddie Roberts, have all been tapped to play the pre-show.

Finally, with these lineup announcements, the event also revealed that Jackie Greene will not be attending Jam Cruise 16, as, happily, he is expecting a new baby on the way. Instead, Anders Osborne will be stepping in for Greene for his scheduled performance with Voodoo Dead, which also features Steve Kimock, Jeff Chimenti, George Porter Jr. and John Kimock.
