Noah Baumbach’s upcoming film stars Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts, as well as Amanda Seyfried, Adam Driver, Charles Grodin and Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys. It will be scored by LCD Soundsystem member James Murphy. This is not the first collaboration for the Baumbach and Murphy, who teamed up for Baumbach’s 2010 film Greenberg, which also starred Stiller.

While We’re Young will be an opportunity for mourning LCD Soundsystem fans to see the artist/producer back in action and making waves in the world of cinema. After the release of Greenberg, in an interview with Pitchfork, Murphy spoke of the process of writing individual tracks used in the film to produce a modern take on the traditional idea of a film score. He said:

“I tend to not like scores. I like old scores that are very specific but, typically, contemporary scores drive me crazy. It’s the musical equivalent of a poetry slam – just mood tones and spacey surround-sound shit. So I wrote a bunch of songs that are not directly about the movie but are like the songs that we would pick out of our record collections to illustrate the movie”.

The Film Stage broke this news on Twitter along with the announcement that Greenberg will premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival ,for you avid film goers out there.
