Tedeschi Trucks Band has been on a roll this summer, capitalizing on their Wheels of Soul tour to collaborate with some very special guests on a nightly basis. With North Mississippi Allstars and Los Lobos performing at each show as support, members of both bands – including Luther Dickinson, David Hidalgo and more – continue to find a home within the magic of Tedeschi Trucks Band. Last night’s stop at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta, GA took that to a new level, as even more special guests joined in the fray.

The first was the legendary Col. Bruce Hampton, who came out for a cover of the blues standard “Spoonful” with Luther Dickinson. Dickinson stayed on stage, and lent his hand to “Leaving Trunk” and “Midnight In Harlem.” Perhaps the biggest surprise was the appearance of Jimmy Herring, as the Widespread Panic guitarist linked up with Tedeschi Trucks for a version of Doyle Bramhall’s song, “I Want More.” The crowd was in utter appreciation of the musical fusion, and the guest appearances weren’t over! David Hidalgo, Cody Dickinson, and Steve Berlin all added their talents to “The Storm” to close the set. Luther Dickinson also rejoined one last time, adding some guitar to the fitting choice cover of The Beatles’ “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

With all of that love from the music community, this was surely a great musical experience. Fortunately we can relive it from home, as taper Dillon Fries has provided a full audio recording of the set. Tune in below and enjoy!
