Widespread Panic singer/guitarist John Bell spoke to Marquee Magazine recently, to discuss the band’s upcoming trip to Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Bell also confirmed one tasty piece of information: the band’s new album is due out in September.

The band has been debuting new music throughout the year, and is now drawing nearer to an official new album announcement. Bell even addressed the fact that they’ve been performing new songs, saying “We’ve done so many records and tried so many angles of approach that this time, we just said: ‘We want to play the songs, so we’ll just start playing.'”

The music has been well-received too. “I’ve heard good things, and that’s nice to hear… But basically, we do it for ourselves and hope that leaks over to everybody else’s intrigue and enjoyment.”
