Fans of comedian Dave Chappelle will almost certainly recall his Chappelle Show sketch with John Mayer. The infamous skit makes fun of Mayer’s hold over white people, as they drop everything that they’re doing when Mayer walks in and starts playing his guitar.
Remembering When John Mayer Was In A Hilarious Chappelle Show Sketch
Apparently the duo have remained friends since the 2004 episode, as both performed at a private party in Los Angeles last Friday, January 22nd. By all accounts, Mayer was up jamming until 5 in the morning, while Chappelle and Julian Lennon both fronted the band.
Mayer posted on Instagram with the following caption: “Started a band with Chapelle tonight. First gig was insanely good. And went insanely late. 100 or so people can attest to the magic.”
