Beloved guitarist John Mayer is on an absolute musical tear these days. After a remarkable tour with Dead & Company over the summer, Mayer got his Trio together and put the finishing touches on a new album. The band released their first single, “Love On The Weekend,” not too long ago, and Mayer then hosted a live Q&A session to talk more about the album and future plans.
So far, the Trio has only played one show this year, but Mayer has promised tour dates and more from the beloved crew. Today he’s made good on that promise, announcing an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. That taping will air on December 6th, as per an event announcement from Mayer himself. Though the announcement doesn’t specify, it is assumed that Mayer will be performing with Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan for the show. This also marks Mayer’s first appearance on the program as a solo artist, though he did appear with Dead & Company in early 2016. Watch that here.
