John Mayer To Reportedly Join Grateful Dead Members For Fall Tour

According to a report in Billboard, guitarist John Mayer will be joining certain members of The Grateful Dead “Core Four” for a fall tour this October.

Not many details have been provided by the Billboard report, which mostly recapitulates the existing information about the “Fare Thee Well” reunion shows. It does mention that Bob Weir is the main proponent for the 37-year-old guitarist, who would have enormous shoes to fill if he does play the “role” of Jerry Garcia in upcoming shows.

One insider said “it sounds like RatDog, the sequel.” Mayer and Weir recently jammed together on The Late Late Show, when Mayer was filling in as interim host. Later, a photo of Mike Gordon, John Mayer, and Bob Weir surfaced (pictured above).
