Rumors have been swirling over the last two years that music-industry darling, Taylor Swift, was in talks to play icon Joni Mitchell in a biopic adaptation of the book Girls Like Us, which chronicles the impact of Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Carly Simon. Unfortunately, or fortunately for Mitchell, the movie will never come into fruition as the Canadian singer-songwriter has put the ol’ kibosh on the project. According to Mitchell, “I squelched that. I said to the producer, ‘All you’ve got is a girl with high cheekbones.’ It’s just a lot of gossip, you don’t have the great scenes. There’s a lot of nonsense about me in books….assumptions, assumptions, assumptions.”

No worries though, if biopics are your thing, then you can look forward to a slew of ones currently being made in similar fashion to the way that Marvel dishes superhero movies out to the public. Currently in the works are biopics on Guns ‘n’ Roses, Hank Williams, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, N.W.A., Elton John, and more.
