According to Columbia Records chairman Rob Stringer, LCD Soundsystem has signed a deal with the record label. The news comes via a slip of the tongue on the red carpet by Stringer who was being honored with the Clive Davis Innovator award at Billboard‘s Power 100 event back in January.

The move to Columbia Records would be a departure for James Murphy and LCD Soundsystem from Murphy’s DFA label, who put out 2007’s Sound of Silver through Capitol Records and 2010’s This is Happening through Virgin Records. No details have been confirmed by Murphy or his DFA label yet.
