When LCD Soundsystem reunited last year at the start of 2016, the band announced a plan that included details for touring as well as the production of the new album. Luckily, 2016 saw LCD Soundsystem extensively tour the U.S. to the delight of fans who were beyond glad to see the end of the infamous band’s hiatus. With such a tour-heavy last year, LCD was not left with much time to get in the recording studio and lay down new tracks. However, James Murphy has recently updated impatient fans about the status of their newest album, which will be their first new release since Christmas Will Break Your Heart in 2015.

In response to a user asking for updates, the band page replied “sure. still working on it, but it’ll be done soon. winter tends to mess with my voice, so finishing the thing drags out.” In response to a more direct query: “WHERE IS THE NEW ALBUM,” the band page responded, “Working on it!”

This update gives fan another reason to get stoked for the end of winter, knowing that new releases from LCD Soundsystem are in the works once the winter clears up.
