Austin-based LEVITATION Festival has been canceled due to severe weather and flooding, with conditions continuing in the near future. The festival was getting ready to host acts such as Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds in its entirety, Ween, Flying Lotus, Animal Collective, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and many more over the course of the weekend.

Event organizers, Reverberation Appreciation Society released a statement explaining the decision to cancel: “It is with great sadness that we must report that due to safety concerns regarding dangerous weather, ‪#‎Levitation2016‬ has been cancelled” RAS stated. “The cancellation is due to dangerous weather conditions in the forecast combined with weather complications to the grounds and the Colorado River.”

The area has been plagued with “high wind, large hail and tornado warnings, combined with high water levels from last week’s flooding.” The festival experienced difficulty last year with the weather as well, however the severity of the 2016 storms has been much worse up to this point. There has been a number of deaths reported, as well as millions of dollars worth of property damage. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Texas being effected by the storms.

LEVITATION is offering refunds on all tickets and passes at the festival’s website.
