Towards the end of his residency at the Capitol Theatre, the great Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh announced that he would be teaming up with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead for a NYE run at the storied venue. A month later, and PhilRAD was primed and ready to go!

The band, comprised of Lesh, Joe Russo, Marco Benevento, Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton, worked through a set of Grateful Dead classics, opening with “Truckin’,” stirring up “Estimated Prophet” > “Eyes of the World,” and even playing “Dark Star” with “All Along the Watchtower” intertwined in the psychedelic tune.
