While Phil Lesh has been going year-by-year through the Grateful Dead’s catalog, he took a moment to let the fans choose a year for his Phil & Friends outfit to cover. Naturally, the fans chose 1977, one of the peaks in the Dead’s 30-year career.

So, Phil & Friends got to work on the setlist from May 19, 1977 at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA. Bringing along Stu Allen, Grahame Lesh, Scott Guberman, Ezra Lipp, Alex Koford, and Elliott Peck, the free show opened with “Promised Land” and never looked back! The band only made one modification from the original show, adding a “And We Bid You Goodnight” encore to close out the performance.
