Lockn’ Festival has announced that Billy & The Kids will be joining this year’s 2015 lineup, as the Grateful Dead drummer’s new band has been making waves since they formed after the performance of Bill Kreutzmann’s Locknstep Allstars at the festival last year.
Billy & The Kids features drummer Bill Kreutzmann, guitarist Tom Hamilton (JRAD/American Babies/Brothers Past), keyboardist Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits) and bassist Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green). The band announced a “Dear Jerry” pre-party yesterday, and will be performing at the “Dear Jerry” tribute event as well.
Lockn’ is scheduled for September 10-13 in Arrington, VA, with a lineup that includes Phil & Friends, Umphrey’s McGee, Widespread Panic, String Cheese Incident, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Tribute to Joe Cocker, Doobie Brothers, and more. For more information, consult the Lockn’ website.
