Lord of the Rings was one of the most successful movie franchises of all time, winning 17 Academy Awards from 2001-2003. For the first time, LOTR fans will have the opportunity to interact with the movies on a whole new level, as the films will be orchestrated, live, by the 250-person 21st Century Symphony Orchestra at NYC’s Lincoln Center.

The movies will be screened over the course of April 8-12, with the orchestra performing live in conjunction with the films. For more information about the event, including tickets and VIP packages, check out their official website.

This isn’t the first live orchestra film event at Lincoln Center. The venue hosts a “Film Week at the Philharmonic” event, which focused on the work of Alfred Hitchcock last September. With a film as epic as Lord of the Rings, the masterpiece score performed live is guaranteed to be a thoroughly immersive, entertaining experience.
