On Saturday, January 2nd, BB King Blues Club in NYC’s Times Square was the funkiest place to be. The James Brown Dance Party is a project from brother duo Adam Chase and Matthew Chase, and it’s a must-see show for fans of the funk.

This edition’s lineup featured Elise Testone on vocals, Michael Ray (Giant Country Horns, Cosmic Crewe) on trumpet, Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band) on trombone, Chris Bullock (Snarky Puppy, Jazz Is Phish) on sax, Ravi Best (Kool & The Gang, Michael Jackson, David Byrne & St. Vincent) on trumpet, Todd Stoops (RAQ) on keys, Fred Thomas (James Brown Band) on bass, Mousey Thompson (James Brown Band) on drums, Adam Chase (Strange Design, Jazz Is Phish) on drums, and Matthew Chase (Strange Design, Jazz Is Phish) on guitar, plus a special guest appearance from James Casey (Trey Anastasio Band) on sax.
