Turkuaz’s Michaelangelo Carubba is approaching the big 3-0, and he’s calling in all the troops to help him make it the funkiest celebration ever. Nate Werth (Snarky Puppy), Eric Benny Bloom (Lettuce), Zdenek Gubb (Twiddle), Craig Brodhead (Turkuaz), Rob Compa (Dopapod) and Todd Stoops will join forces for a superjam of epic proportions at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY. This lineup holds some serious musical bravado, but there’s also a chemistry amongst them that’s evolved over the years into something very special. Snarky Puppy and Lettuce members have joined forces a number of times and it’s always a real treat. Our Michael Jackson vs. Stevie Wonder show, which featured both Werth and Bloom, remains one of our most fun shows to date. Stoops previously collaborated with Twiddle’s Zdenek during his time in Kung Fu, and the combination was powerful. When Turkuaz frontman Dave Brandwein suffered a hand injury, Dopapod’s Eli Winderman stepped in to assist. Basically, they’re a tight knit crew representing some of the best in the jam/funk scene.
