Earlier in the year, moe. revealed their intention to play New Year’s Eve somewhere unexpected. Shortly thereafter, they settled on The Wilma in Missoula, Montana, miles away from any NYE show played in past years. The remote location hasn’t deterred true .rons from making the trek, and it certainly hasn’t deterred moe. from turning up the heat for their beloved fans.

The band’s first night was highlighted by a hearty array of original music, including the opening run of “Billy Goat” > “Not Coming Down” > “Wormwood” > “Don’t Wanna Be”. Some other noteworthy moments include the band’s all-out jamming in the second set, trading solos after “Bullet” before launching into “Kyle’s Song.” “Kyle’s” itself also featured some jamming on the “Star Wars” theme, a natural selection with the recent death of Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher. moe. played a full “Star Wars”-themed Halloween show in 2015.

The band closed out the show with another tribute, busting out the classic “All The Young Dudes” for the first time since 10/31/14. Though recorded by Mott The Hoople, the song was written by David Bowie and was certainly played in his memory. You can hear all of these great highlights in the audio player below, as taped by marcus.

There’s a lot to be excited for in the world of moe., including two big tours in early 2017 and the return of moe.down Music Festival over July 4th weekend in Turin, NY. For more information about all of these dates, head here.
