The Motet closed out day one of the Funk Fest Punta Gorda last night in fine style with a set of deep grooves and crowd-pleasing jams. You couldn’t have asked for a nicer day for a fest, as warm winds blew in off the ocean, the audience was overjoyed to get the outdoor festival season started. Live For Live Music‘s own Rex Thomson is on site to photograph and film the weekend-long event as it unfolds. You can keep an eye out for a full review of the festival after the event comes to a close tonight. Until then, everyone who can’t be on site having fun in the sun and under the stars can enjoy a preview of the footage from The Motet’s set below. Enjoy!

Funk Fest Punta Gorda continues today with another set from The Motet, as well as performances by Dumpstaphunk, Here Come The Mummies, Tim Reynolds & TR3, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Naughty Professor, Gian Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad, and more!
