My Morning Jacket played a few shows over the last week, dusting off the cobwebs in what has been a rather quiet 2016 for the band. With their first shows back, the band paid tribute to Prince with three songs on Wednesday night in Oklahoma, and following that up on Thursday at Houston, TX’s Revention Music Center with covers of “Sign O’ The Times” and “Purple Rain,” the latter of which closed their set in rousing fashion.

My Morning Jacket Opens Spring Tour With Three Prince Covers

Along with the Prince covers, MMJ ran through crowd-favorites such as “Circuital,” “The Way That He Sings,” “Gideon,” new track “Throwback”, and finished the show with “One Big Holiday”. The band is playing New Orleans Jazz Fest today, and will play several shows in May, including already sold-out shows at Louisville, KY’s Iroquois Amphitheater and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.
