As they prepare for their second annual One Big Holiday at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico from Jan. 31st – Feb. 4th, My Morning Jacket has revealed they they will not only be releasing one, but two, new albums in the near future, and the first new release of material since 2011’s Circuital. In the most recent issue of Rolling Stone magazine, Jim James blessed the music world with the news that MMJ will release the first album in April of 2015, with the second to follow in 2016. “I just had a ton of songs this time….” James told Rolling Stone about the band getting back in the studio near San Francisco late last year, “We could just jump in and start rolling tape. It was really fun.”

What came out of those sessions are 24 tracks, which the band is still in the process of sequencing. James went on to say that he is also working on the follow-up to his solo album, Region of Light and Sound of God, which he hopes to also release sometime in 2016. Nothing but good things for the rock world.
