Fast-rising progressive funk/jazz collective Naughty Professor are fresh off an extensive summer tour, and ready to bring it home (literally) with a hometown gig that shouldn’t slip by your radar. Naughty P will hit the Howlin’ Wolf in New Orleans on September 5th to headline “Disorientation,” a genre-bending music experience with five acts across two rooms of the iconic music venue. Naughty Professor is out to do something different and so far they’ve been successful in that mission. By fusing old school and newer styles, Naughty P has created a unique style that’s rooted in funk with loose, jazzy elements and heavy improvisation. The young band has already shared a stage with renowned New Orleans acts like Galactic, The Revivalists and Rebirth Brass Band. A Naughty P show takes you on a journey through time and space, fueled by a tight horn section and contagious energy.
Since releasing their second studio album, Out on a Limb, earlier this year, the band has soared to new heights and truly left their mark on the New Orleans music scene – though this is clearly only the beginning of an unstoppable trajectory for the driven and talented group.
