Pearl Jam will bring their rockin’ and rollin’ 25th anniversary tour to Wrigley Field tonight, for the first of a two-night run at the historic Chicago Cubs stadium. Pearl Jam’s last shows were actually at a stadium – Fenway Park – but the band has strong ties to Wrigley. Eddie Vedder has sung “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” there, band members have thrown out first pitches, and much more.

Though the Wrigley run doesn’t kick off until tomorrow, the band was in town a night early and set up shop at the bar Murphy’s Bleachers across the street. Fans lined up through the streets to watch the festivities, but by all reports the sound quality was fairly poor from street level. The band’s impromptu performance was recorded however, and will most likely wind up in a package of live footage chronicling the band’s 25th anniversary tour or their visit to Wrigley Field.

You can watch some Periscope footage of the impromptu performance below.

We can’t wait to see what Pearl jam has in store for the rest of the weekend!
