Today, ahead of impending three-night run at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park this weekend, Phish has announced that their breakthrough 1995 live album, A Live One, is getting an official vinyl release. The A Live One vinyl has yet to be officially announced by the band, but the listing on BullMoose confirms the impending release.

Though it was not originally issued until 1995, nearly 12 years into Phish’s career, it is widely considered to be one of the band’s seminal releases. Phish differs from most commercially successful bands in that fans are more interested in live recordings of the band than finely polished studio tracks. Up until this point, the band’s live mastery was disseminated solely through tape trading and word of mouth. Once A Live One hit stores, live Phish was presented to the masses for the first time, giving birth to a whole new generation of fans.

Each track on A Live One was recorded at a different stop on the band’s 1994 summer/fall tours. The album featured five “new”  songs that had yet to appear on record: “Gumbo,” “Slave To The Traffic Light,” “Wilson,” “Simple,” and “Harry Hood.” Several of the album’s tracks are considered among the most celebrated version of the given song, including “Wilson” and “Stash” (both of which showcased the audience participation aspect of Phish’s shows) as well as “Slave” and “You Enjoy Myself,” which featured the first officially released “YEM” vocal jam.

The listed cost of the 4-LP A Live One vinyl is $94.97 and will be released on October 27th. For more information, you can head to the album listing on Bull Moose. Pre-order has not yet begun. You can see a full track list/LP breakdown for the upcoming release below.
