Earlier this week, Prince hosted a dance party rally in memory of Freddie Gray, the young African-American man who died unjustly while under police custody and sparked unprecedented riots throughout Baltimore. Now, the Purple One is taking his efforts right to the front line, hosting a “Rally 4 Peace” in Baltimore.

A press release on the event read:

“In a spirit of healing, the event is meant to be a catalyst for pause and reflection following the outpouring of violence that has gripped Baltimore and areas throughout the U.S. As a symbolic message of our shared humanity and love for one another, attendees are invited to wear something gray in tribute to all those recently lost in the violence.”

Several big industry players whose names have not been revealed have apparently shown their support for the event and plan to attend. The concert will take place at the Royal Farms Arena this Sunday, May 10.

Prince recently announced the forthcoming release of a tribute song to the people of Baltimore.
