Beloved alternative rockers Radiohead have announced plans for a major world tour. The dates span multiple continents, including a number of tour dates through Europe and North America, as well as two previously-announced festivals in Japan. These will mark the band’s first full performances since 2012.
The dates kick off in May, with shows in Amsterdam, Paris, London, Lyon, Barcelona, and Reyjkavik, before hitting a handful of summer festivals in Europe. The European-heavy tour schedule makes sense, considering the band is from the UK. There are a handful of North American dates on the schedule as well, including two nights at Madison Square Garden (July 26-27) in New York, NY and two nights at the Shrine Auditorium (August 4, 8) in Los Angeles, CA. They’re also playing two nights in Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes at the back end of the tour, on October 3-4.
According to the band’s website, these are the only tour dates that the band will play, but the group does leave the door open for more festival appearances. This corresponds nicely with Consequence of Sound’s insider information about the band, which suggests that Radiohead will be on the top of the bill for Lollapalooza and Outside Lands music festivals.
