On Thursday, the Red Hot Chili Peppers hit Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, again proving themselves to be a timeless juggernaut of a band with no signs of slowing down, even after thirty-plus years on the road. The group’s set was spirited throughout, kicking off with an intro jam that built through to “Can’t Stop” off their 2002 album, By The Way. The group continued pulling numbers from their earlier catalog with numbers like “Californication,” “The Zephyr Song,” and “Under The Bridge,” among others, to the delight of the crowd.

Their Thursday performance also fell on the day that the news of Chris Cornell’s passing broke, and the Chili Peppers paid tribute to the Soundgarden vocalist during their encore with a cover of the late artist’s song “Seasons” off the Seasons soundtrack. The rendition of Cornell’s song kicked off the group’s encore, which saw Josh Klinghoffer tackle the mournful number solo before the group moved through their new song “Goodbye Angels” and the classic “Give It Away” to end the night.
