Fans have been eagerly awaiting the new Red Hot Chili Peppers for some time now, as the band has been teasing a new release since 2014. Back then, Flea called the new music “super danceable, funky shit,” and recent updates have the band in the home stretches of a final product. With a busy summer festival schedule, we’re hopeful that RHCP will deliver soon.

Fortunately, the band has revealed plans to share a new track this week. Called “Dark Necessities,” the band has promised to release the new single by Thursday, May 5th. Check out their post below:

A new RHCP album would be their first in five years, a follow-up to 2011’s I’m With You. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the new grooves from RHCP! Did you see them jamming with The Meters’ members last weekend?
