For the second weekend in a row, the Desert Trip, aka “Oldchella” out in Indio, CA, was the talk of the town. With a lineup consisting of The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Who, and Roger Waters, how could it not be? These acts are all putting on 2+ hour sets well into their 70’s.

With Paul McCartney welcoming Neil Young to come out and join him on stage, as well as superstar in her own right Rihanna, it seemed that sit-ins weren’t going to be out of the ordinary on this momentous occasion. And Roger Waters certainly delivered on that with a nearly 3-hour set that saw the former Pink Floyd bassist joined by indie-pop darlings Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius.

The singers (who also joined Waters for his recent free gig in Mexico) acted as backup singers for most of the set, lending their stunning vocals to a number of tracks from Pink Floyd’s legendary canon, including a most impressive lead spot on Dark Side Of The Moon‘s “Great Gig In The Sky.” Check out awesome footage from that, as well as from “Time” and “Comfortably Numb” below:
