Last night, the Rolling Stones played a surprise show in LA to kick off their US “Zip Code” tour. The band hit the intimate Fonda Theatre in the 90028 before they will embark on a massive stadium tour across the US. With the upcoming re-release of Sticky Fingers, the band tore through that classic album’s in its entirety, including “You Gotta Move,” which was played for the first time since 1976.

For the encore, the band honored B.B. King with a cover of “Rock Me Baby.” The Rolling Stones are heavily inspired by the blues (their name derives from a Muddy Waters song), making for a very fitting tribute to the late bluesman. The show closed out with a rendition of Otis Redding’s “Can’t Turn You Loose,” their first time covering the tune since 2003.

Karl Denson is currently touring with the Stones. Grace Potter was just announced as an opener at select stops.
