This year, two Major League Baseball teams will pay tribute to the Grateful Dead! Both the Boston Red Sox and the San Francisco Giants will host “Grateful Dead Tribute Nights”, with a heavy emphasis on charity at both events.

The first Grateful Dead Tribute Night will take place at Boston’s legendary Fenway Park on April 11th, when the Red Sox take on the Baltimore Orioles. There will be a special edition dancing bears figurine for all in attendance, as well as a pre-game concert of Dead tunes. A portion of all proceeds will go to the Dead’s Rex Foundation charity. You can find out all the info you need for the Boston Red Sox’s Grateful Dead Tribute Night at this link.

Later in the summer, the San Francisco Giants will host their annual Grateful Dead Tribute Night on August 3rd at their beautiful AT&T Park, when the Giants will take on the Oakland A’s. This night will double as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the “Summer of Love”, which took place in 1967. Members of the Dead will be on hand, as well as a few members of Jerry Garcia‘s family will be at the event and will take part in a special pre-game ceremony. Proceeds from every special event ticket sold will be donated to a host of non-profits that are important to the band and their organization.
