While the remaining members of Stone Temple Pilots have been battling things out in court with former frontman Scott Weiland, and choosing to hit the road with Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, Weiland has been playing shows with his band the Wildabouts. Unfortunately, things have not been going so well for the singer, while STP and Bennington seems a match made in heaven.

At a recent show in Corpus Christi, TX, Weiland appeared to be completely spaced out during a version of “Vasoline” (check it out below). It looked as if he wasn’t even present, or hearing the music being played behind him. His vocals fell flat and his body was extremely rigid as he got through the song, with many speculating that he has once again fallen off the wagon.

In a recent interview with Music Frenzy, Filter lead singer Richard Patrick (who was in Army of One with both Rob and Dean DeLeo) chimed in about Weiland’s destructive ways:   “[The fans are] just sticking up for Scott, and they have no idea of [what is going on] behind the scenes. And it’s actually … they’re pushing him into his death, because they’re making him believe that, ‘Whatever I did is acceptable, and I can be as high as I want and I can do as much drugs as I want.’”

Weiland responded via Blabbermouth, saying “Hey Richard — thanks for your thoughts and opinions on my life. Just so you know, and others do as well, I haven’t had a needle in my arm in thirteen years. Overcoming my addiction to heroin was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and I’m damn proud of the fact that the time in my life when drugs were stronger than my commitment to my health is so far behind me, and always will be.”

Well, whatever the story is, Weiland doesn’t appear to be fully behind the wheel in the video. If he has fallen off course in his drug addiction, we wish him the best of luck with recovery, because we all know how that could end. If he is clean, then he needs to get his shit together, because you butchered that performance.
