Picture yourself on a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies…

Well, now you don’t have to picture it. Thanks to the glorious set design on Late Show with David Letterman, Sean Lennon and The Flaming Lips have brought this whimsical, psychedelic tune to life. Love it or hate it, you certainly have to admire their creative enthusiasm.

The song selection is a part of Beatles Tribute Week on Letterman. The tribute week is in honor of the 50th anniversary of the famed Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, essentially introducing the moptopped Liverpudlians to America. Cue Beatlemania.

On Monday, Broken Bells performed “And I Love Her,” using a vintage video of Ringo Starr playing drums to “I Am The Walrus.” You can watch that video here.

On Tuesday, Sting played “Drive My Car.” On Wednesday, Lenny Kravitz played a rockin’ version of “Get Back.” Both of those videos can be found here.

Ms. Lauryn Hill is scheduled to perform tonight… we’re very eager to see which Beatles song she chooses!
