On March 26th at a sold-out Brooklyn Bowl, the Stratosphere Allstars made up of Mike Greenfield (Lotus), Steve Molitz (Particle), David Murphy (Seven Arrows/formerly of STS9), and Marcus Rezak (Digital Tape Machine), surrounded by several special guests including Todd Stoops (Kung Fu), Andrew Block (Gramatik), and vocalists Ben Combe (Particle) and Allison Singer, put on a show that exceeded all expectations. Playing various covers by groups such as LCD Soundsystem, the Grateful Dead, Talking Heads, Disclosure and more, including some free-form improvisational jams, the energy the Stratosphere Allstars created was something truly remarkable that doesn’t happen all too often.

The group is releasing a recording of their super funky cover of the Grateful Dead‘s “Shakedown Street” that had the energy in Brooklyn Bowl at 11! The full show will be available for stream shortly as well, as the group’s recently created Facebook page gives the hint that some more show announcements from this new group are coming our way very soon. From the band’s bio:

The magic that occurred on that night between the band and fans in attendance begged the question of whether or not these experienced and well-traveled stalwarts of the jam scene would perform some more shows and create original music together. The answer to that inquiry was a resounding yes!

For now, check out the Stratosphere Allstars version of “Shakedown Street”:
