The String Cheese Incident continued their tradition of unlikely collaborations by bringing out two very diverse acts during their Friday night headlining set at Electric Forest last night. First, Preservation Hall Jazz Band brought some old school New Orleans spirit to the stage. Their horn section helped out on a massive rendition of “Hollywood Swinging” by Kool and the Gang followed by a huge dance party for a cover of “Uptown Funk.” First set came to a close with “Miss Brown’s Teahouse.”

Second set carried on with several originals and a cover of the Allman Brothers’ “Jessica.” Finally, for the encore, Skrillex jumped on stage – on guitar?! The EDM powerhouse crushed covers of The Doors’ “Break On Through (To The Other Side)” and “L.A. Woman,” and teased a track of his own, “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites.”

All in all it was a top notch, diverse set fit for their first of three headlining sets of the weekend. And hey, not saying we called it, but not saying we didn’t call it either…
