To say that Sound Tribe Sector 9 came out swinging to kick off their New Years Eve run at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver would be an understatement. Thursday night’s show opened with “Havona Ascent,” a huge surprise for lucky attendants when considering that the track hadn’t been played by the band since 2004, effectively ending a 12-year drought.

“Havona” set the tone for the first set and really for the rest of the show, with STS9 in proper form throughout. The first set also saw Tribe play “Ad Explorata” live for the first time (the title track off their 2012 album) as well as “Tooth” for the first time in well over a year, which was later worked back in during the “Poseidon” encore.

**first time Ad Explorata was ever played

***Light Years music only no sample

^Hidden Hand Hidden Fist featured a World Go Round tease by Phipps and the end segment features the Light Years Audio sample.

%Out of this World has an incredible extended end section that flowed right into Rent for an amazing transition that lead into a nasty Rent with a wild peak!
