As Bruce Springsteen continues his tour through Australia, one 14 year old fan named Nathan Testa couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see his idol in concert. Testa not only skipped school to catch Springsteen at the Brisbane Entertainment Center, but held up a sign proudly stating that fact. The sign also included that Testa wanted to come on stage and play “Growin’ Up” with Springsteen, something that The Boss took him up on.

“Do you know the song?,” said Springsteen. “You know it on guitar? Well, come on up!” And thus, this happened:

Amazingly enough, this isn’t a one time experience for the young Testa. Three years ago, he also worked his way onto the stage to jam with Bruce Springsteen at the age of 11. Three years later, Testa has all but cemented his reputation in the eyes of The Boss. Springsteen said, “I have seen the future of rock and roll and his name is Nathan Testa!”

Springsteen does have a long history of inviting fans on stage to perform with him. Watch him dance with an 89-year-old grandmother from this article written in February 2016.
