In a new interview with the Saugerties Times, the property owners for the site of last year’s Hudson Festival have confirmed that it will not be returning in 2015. Michael Lang, who represents the owners of Winston Farm (the site of the festival), said “The Hudson Project is on hold for the moment… it’s not coming back this year.”

While Lang is “talking to other entities,” the festival itself has remained silent on the issue. Their Facebook page and website only shows photos from last year’s event, and the promoters, MCP Presents, did not respond to questions about the future of Hudson.

If you’ll recall, the festival was a source of controversy last summer, as heavy rains and thunderstorms flooded the festival area, causing the organizers to cancel the third day. The result was described as chaotic, with individuals stranded at their cars, completely stuck in the mud. Naturally, people began to call it the “Mudson Project,” and there was quite the backlash from the community. Eventually, the festival did issue partial refunds for cancelling the day of music.

However, some accounts, including the review from our long-time contributor Marisa Frydman, pointed out that “there were probably just as many high points to the music festival as there were low.”

This is certainly speculation, but there have been rumors about the return of Camp Bisco, which is organized by the same production company. The absence of the Hudson Project may open the door for a Camp Bisco in 2015, but that remains to be seen. All we know for certain is that the Hudson Festival will not be returning to Winston Farm this summer.
