It’s hard to believe that The Last Waltz was almost 40 years ago, but the iconic guest-laden final performance of The Band took place on November 25th, 1976. This year has seen a number of artists pay tribute to The Last Waltz, including an incredible Warren Haynes-led showcase during the Jazz Fest late night season. A new concert will bring things full circle, however, as performers from the original concert will team up for the celebration.

This August, a show at NYC’s Damrosch Park will pay tribute to 40 years of The Last Waltz. Hosted by The Midnight Ramble Band, the longtime outfit of the late Levon Helm, the group has announced a number of familiar special guests to pay tribute to 40 years of The Last Waltz. Those guests include: Dr. John, Lucinda Williams, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Anderson East, Howard Johnson, and Larry Campbell.

Not only will all of these great artists be playing, but the show is free. You can find more information here!
