Earlier this summer, longtime fans of the All Good Music Festival were disappointed when the event ended its lengthy tenure in the scene. The organizers weren’t finished, however, and regrouped with a sensational lineup for their new Merryland Music Festival. Taking place at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, performances from ELM, Protoje, TAUK, Yonder Mountain String Band, Stephen “Ragga” Marley, and Lotus highlighted a great day of music. It was The String Cheese Incident that sent fans home happy, playing a full two set performance for the books.

The band opened with their tune “Let’s Go Outside,” before bringing out a classic combination of “Best Feeling” and “Johnny Cash.” One of Cheese’s oldest songs gave way to their newest, as the band broke into “Get Tight” for the second time ever. Tracks like “Yo Se,” “Rhythm of the Road,” and “Black Clouds” put a cap on this fun set.

The show continued with more excitement, as the band opened set two with “Can’t Wait Another Day.” They welcomed dobro player Jay Starling out for a rendition of Vassar Clements’ “Lonesome Fiddle Blues,” and kept the energy up with “Joyful Sound,” and more! They brought out “Down The River” and the new song, “Believe,” before finishing off the set with a great “Jellyfish > Close Your Eyes.” It was “Desert Dawn” that sent the fans home happy!
