Tipitina’s, one of New Orleans most well-known music venues, has plans to extend its brand into an outdoor music venue in New Orleans East. Taking over a deserted 4.5 acres lakefront property, the location will transform into a high-end retail center, music venue, and potential education facility.

In this updated plan, they will be renovating the abandoned South Shore Harbor Terminal and add a fuel dock and convenience store for nearby marinas to accompany the amphitheater and restaurant spaces as phase one over the next three years. Phase two, which is expected to take five years to complete, will add live music, a nightclub, recording studio, shops, and additional restaurants and bars. If all goes well, a potential phase three would include an education facility or museum. While the original plans included a waterslide and lazy river, we agree with the details of this matured deal.
