Progressive-jam titans Umphrey’s McGee have added a new batch of tour dates that will take the band to the South, Northeast and Midwest this winter. The tour kicks off January 13th with a three-night run at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, and from there will take them to familiar venues like The National in Richmond, VA, the State Theatre in Portland, ME, the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY and many more. The band will perform twelve dates in total, winding things down with a two-night run in Detroit at The Fillmore. Of note, the band has not included any shows at The Beacon Theatre in NYC, signaling an end to their annual winter tradition at the venue.

Saxophone master Joshua Redman will serve as the band’s featured special guest once again, as he’s scheduled to join the band in New Haven, CT, Portland, ME, Albany, NY, and Rochester, NY for what’s sure to be a killer four-day run. Anyone who’s caught Redman with Umphrey’s McGee before knows that his addition to the lineup makes these shows can’t-miss occasions. Check out their fully improvisational “Shooting From The Hip” show here.

Jam band upstarts Spafford will also add to the fun, as they’ll be providing direct support on eight of the twelve dates! Spafford have broken out of their shell of late, as they embarked on their first proper tour this fall, will perform two highly anticipated post-Phish late night shows this New Year’s Eve, and will now add to their resume with several dates in support of Umphrey’s McGee.
