Umphrey’s McGee has been on fire since the jam act geared back up for tour this past week, starting things off at The NorVa in Norfolk, Virginia on Thursday night where they paid tribute to the late Chris Cornell with the debut of a cover of Temple Of The Dog’s “Hunger Strike” during “Der Bluten Kat.” Umphrey’s showed no signs of slowing as they moved through the weekend, with stellar performances at Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore, Maryland, on Friday and Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, on Saturday.

On Friday, Umphrey’s McGee took on Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore, and were joined by friends Aqueous as support for their performance at the waterside outdoor venue. Highlights of Friday’s performance included a jam based on AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” during “Higgins” in the first set and an extended “Plunger” that segued into “Deeper” toward the end of the second set. The group then continued on to Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom the next night, closing out their three-night run on a high note. Umphrey’s McGee’s Saturday night performance saw a “Tango Mike” opener lead into “Smell The Mitten,” a song that was been tabled from rotation since late summer of last year, marking a seventy-seven show gap. The band also performed the ever-popular cover of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” during the second set before a closing sandwich of “Bridgeless” housing the number “August.”
