Ahead of 4th of July, Umphrey’s McGee took to the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, for their first-ever three-night run at the famed venue. With support from Stick Figure on Friday, Bokanté and Snarky Puppy on Saturday, and Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers on Sunday, Umphrey’s headlining performances during the final two nights of the run saw a number of special sit-ins, including by the likes of Roosevelt CollierRobert “Sput” SearightNate WerthChris Bullock, and Mike Maher. However, one of the most special moments of the weekend fell on Sunday, July 2nd, when Jennifer Hartswick joined the band during the second set of the night and final set of the weekend.

Jennifer Hartswick has gained quite a reputation on the scene for her work with Trey Anastasio Band, her masterful trumpet playing, and her powerhouse vocals. No stranger to Red Rocks herself, Hartswick’s cameo during Umphrey’s 15th performance at Red Rocks came after her own performance there with TAB nearly a month prior. For her sit-in with Umphrey’s McGee, Jennifer Hartswick sat-in on vocals during the band’s debut of a cover of Rush’s “Red Barchetta.” The vocalist also provided her singing talents during the second-set closer of “Electric Avenue To Hell”—a mash-up of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” and Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue.”

Recently, Umphrey’s McGee has released pro-shot video filmed by TourGigs of Hartswick’s first sit-in of Sunday night during Rush’s “Red Barchetta.” You can enjoy the video below.
