Last Thanksgiving marked the 40th anniversary of The Band‘s legendary guest-filled final performance in San Francisco, immortalized in the classic Martin Scorsese concert film The Last Waltz. In the ensuing 40 years, The Last Waltz has been honored and replicated by various star-studded lineups. In honor of the milestone anniversary, Warren Haynes planned a tribute tour with a hand-curated band including Michael McDonald, Don Was, Terence Higgins, John Medeski, and many more.
As the tour reached its final stretch, the Last Waltz 40 band surprised fans by announcing that Garth Hudson, one of the original members of The Band, would join the tour for its final two stops on February 2nd in Albany, NY and on February 4th in Oxon Hill, MD. In addition to Hudson, the tour finale at Oxon Hill’s MGM Grand featured several more special guests, including Ivan and Cyril Neville, Bob Margolin.
